Technical Expertise
The QX Inc. Engineering Staff has experience with a variety of castings from bakeware to engine components.
Our staff will assist the customer in all phases of product development from concept through production.
QX realizes that our customers are competing in an ever-changing market; therefore, we believe that our
involvment with the customer at the earliest stages is an essential means of reducing costs and ensuring
quality by optimizing your product to the die casting process. Engineering assistance at the eariest
stages of product development has proven to be beneficial to both the customer and the supplier. Minor
changes in the design of a part can increase production efficiency, eliminate potential problems, and reduce
cost. QX Inc. has substantially reduced customer costs by casting features that might otherwise be machined
through the use of FMEA, PPAP, CPK, DOE, Process Control, and effective Corrective and Preventatice Actions.
This has enabled QX Inc. to cast size, location, flatness, and draft to tolerances tighter than NADCA
standards. Process Control at QX Inc. begins at the tool design phase. The QX Inc. engineering staff
designs all gate, runner, venting, and heat transfer systems using CAD software to maximize capabilities.
Process engineering establishes running parameters by utilizing a shot montioring system that tracks and
monitors several casting variables. Effective work instructions unique to each individual part are
developed for all processes. Process Capability Studies are performed throughout the facility.
